LEARNING HOW TO SHINGLE
Gallery RAG, Rocky Neck, August 14-17 2025
Site-specific video collage with original sound design installed for the time-based exhibition Gradient of Moving Images. Learning How to Shingle explores intergenerational relationships through the transfer of skills and knowledge. Repurposed wood and shingles become canvases for nested video projections that evoke surreal dimensions of depth, time, and space. Supersaturated digital images are thrown onto weathered lumber, contrasting old and new methods, and prompting the eyewitness to consider the transformative passage of time.
